Professor Khalid Mahmood Iraqi has once again been appointed Vice Chancellor of Karachi University.

However, this time he has been appointed as VC permanently and for four years, the notification of his appointment has been issued.

Professor Khalid Iraqi was ranked first by the search committee by giving 64.2% marks, Dr. Jameel Kazmi was ranked second by giving 49% marks and Dr. Monis Ahmar was ranked third by giving 45% marks.

In this regard, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah had interviewed the three candidates and approved the name of Khalid Iraqi. Chief Minister Sindh took this decision on merit keeping in mind his ability and experience.

However, an adviser and a minister had objections due to which the file was stalled for more than a month.

For many days, government circles were waiting to see in whose favor the Chief Minister of Sindh would decide.

It was most likely that Khalid Mahmood Iraqi would become the Vice-Chancellor once again because, firstly, he was placed at the top by the search committee and secondly, he was the strongest candidate.
